PENSHURST PLACE

THE NOOK
Here, I retreat from existence
My soul sighs, relieved as I rest
The blissful embrace of my own quiet space
Tranquility found at it's best
Here, I can be who I want to be
The masks and facades are all gone
Through the ever changing seasons, I discover the reasons
Why here, I felt so at one
Here, I can hide from what scares me
I am at one with myself and a book
I converse with the birds, as we wander in words
Hidden in my little nook
Here, I am free to daydream
To contemplate life's ups and downs
I can sunbathe or sing, I can't hear the phone ring
In my personal Utopia, no frowns
Here, nature rules over man
And I answer to no one but me
My mind wanders vacant, blissful, complacent
Imagination here, is the key
Here, is the place I frequented
In A life full and plenty, It's true
As my ashes were scattered, a life that once mattered
Roamed freely again, now renewed
Here, is the place I'm remembered
By those that in life, I have loved
Just me and a book, in my little nook
and a radiant sky up above
